Lifeguards are the key to ensuring a safe environment for our customers and are essential to the successful running of our aquatic facilities. Pool lifeguards are observant, patient, and good with people. Their skill set means they have the confidence to act in a quick, responsible, and calm way. As a Lifeguard you are responsible for: - Providing a safe environment through proactive supervision and positive interaction with customers. - Educating and enforcing pool rules. - Responding to any First Aid emergencies. - Ensuring our pool and the surrounding areas are always clean. We offer flexible, casual work which is rostered over a 7-day roster period, flexibility in your availability will be ideal If you do not have a PLPC, you will be required to attend the following training dates at our West Wave, **Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm: Starting 26th May 2025** **He kōrero mōu: About you** We are looking for people who are strong swimmers, dedicated to helping others. To work as a pool lifeguard in New Zealand, you will need to hold a Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate (PLPC). - Swim 200m in under 6 minutes. - Swim 25m sidestroke. - Swim 50m breaststroke. - Retrieve an object from the bottom of the pool. - Tread water for 5 minutes **He kōrero mōu: About you** We are looking for people of all ages who are strong swimmers, with flexibility to work multiple days. Ideally, you will have a current PLPC Certification - we can help you obtain this through training if you don’t currently have this.
