**About Us**

Our public service is being called upon to deliver a unified, seamless and effective digital experience for all New Zealanders. As a member of Digital Public Service/Te Kōtui Whitiwhiti branch you will help champion this change. We are seeking an experienced leader with vision and influence to help drive a strong, successful and connected digital public sector.

The Digital Public Service Branch works across the public service to connect, influence and support the system to take advantage of new digital opportunities. It also supports the Government Chief Digital Officer (GCDO) to drive the government’s digital transformation and position government to succeed in a changing and evolving digital age.

**About the role**:
The All of Government Services Delivery Group (AoG SD) sits within the Digital Public Service branch and is responsible for a broad portfolio of all of government ICT services and digital products.

The group work closely with the supply market to deliver modern digital and ICT services across government, as well as delivering all of government information services.

As a strong strategic thinker, you will take holistic view of our “ecosystem” of products and services, define the future direction of the portfolio, and actively contribute to identification of new products and services to ensure alignment to our strategic goals.

Your proactive leadership approach means you will naturally work collaboratively and demonstrate expectational stakeholder management expertise. You will bring a passion for best practice and be continually improving the offering of our product and service to meet sustainable delivery outcomes.

This multi-faceted and influential role involves:

- Extensive experience in managing a multi discipline business function in partnership with business groups and various agencies manage portfolio risk and identify the impacts on operational performance
- Develop and deliver a targeted approach to building on our portfolio strategy that aligns with the branch’s overall vision
- Actively contributing to the Group leadership team, and the Senior Leadership Cohort for the wider Branch
- Continuously manage and monitor achievement of the portfolio against the roadmap, re-aligning priorities to ensure the portfolio remains relevant to agencies, customers and end-users
- Champion and advocate for the decision of our leadership team to be applied across agencies and key stakeholders
- Bring a high level of thought leadership on current challenges, risk and cost drivers
- Build credibility with our Product Management and ICT Capability and Change teams by demonstrating insight and understanding of the challenges faced at an enterprise level
- Actively manage the development, implementation and evaluation of our portfolio framework to add process improvement strategies and initiatives
- Continually improve the quality of our delivery ensuring our stakeholders are provided with timely, professional & quality leadership to support decision making

**About you**:
You will be a forward-looking leader who can lead across a clear strategy and priorities and will strive to create an agile and high performing team committed to a “culture of excellence” and a digital first mind-set.

You will need the following:

- Highly developed stakeholder management skills with confidence and credibility to engage effectively with, and influence stakeholders across the business and drive change
- Excellent attention to detail and outstanding writing skills, you’ll have a natural ability to quickly present information in a concise, accurate and easy to understand form
- Strong understanding of Machinery of government processes, systems and governance with the ability to challenge, influence and negotiate at a high level
- Excellent business acumen with an understanding of current business, commercial and industry objectives and trends coupled with strong analytical capability to expand data driven business decisions
- Appreciation of the role and impact of technology change in the wider context of business capabilities, procurement and supplier models, people, and processes
- Demonstrated experience in analysing a complex range of information, and critical thinking successfully driving short-term improvement while maintaining a clear, strategic long-term view of our objectives
