**About the Role**

With our growth plans, we have a great opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our talented team in New Zealand. The prime function of this position is to convert successfully sold sales layouts into fully engineered system layouts which meet customer requirements as well as provide the project manager with the “as supplied” equipment list and all installation details. In addition, the role will be involved in project cycle, site installation and commissioning activities as required by project needs to ensure project success.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Work with the project manager to ensure all the customers’ requirements are understood and met in line with the sales handover.
- To ensure site measurements are up to date with the proposed sales layout (2D AutoCAD Layout).
- Liaise with Project Manager to provide pre-sale support in terms of layouts, system design and to ensure that all products required to deliver an expert solution are offered to the customer.
- Review and ensure sales layout and confirm dimensions, BOM and individual equipment listed match. When required carry out site surveys on customer sites to ensure accurate information is available for the project execution.
- Assist the Project Manager with costing sheets for each project.
- To compile and maintain accurate Contract files for each project with up to date and relevant information regarding each Customer Contract.
- Maintain project schedules by monitoring progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems; recommending actions to bring projects on time, on budget and to the customer’s satisfaction.
- Generate an accurate BOM based on the Sales Order to enable the PM to place the items on order on time.
- Deliver a documentation pack to the PM and customer defining the technical features of the system. Typically, this will comprise of engineering layout with BOM and Functional design spec.
- Work with engineering to generate standard blocks and layouts to promote maximum use of standard products.
- To be involved in site installation and commissioning activities as required by project needs to ensure project success.

**Qualification and experience**
- Degree qualified in Mechanical or Electrotechnical engineering.
- 4-8 years design experience with exposure to EPC projects installation
- Exposure to the Manufacturing Environment
- FMCG Product, Equipment and working Environment knowledge is advantage.
- Fully proficient AutoCAD, 3D Modelling will be advantageous.
- Fully proficient in MS Office365.

**Skills and Attributes**
- Collaborative skills: As a project engineer you will have to work with teams across your organisation. This will often include customers, contractors, sales, the engineering department, product management and senior executives. This role entails coordinating the work of many different people.
- Communication skills: Both speaking and writing abilities must be tapped in this role. You will frequently have to discuss customer specific requirements and project elements.
- Able to multi-task manage and prioritise tasks and resources whilst working under pressure.
- PC skills including a sound understanding of spreadsheets, AutoCAD competent, preparation of presentations and reports.
- Positive can-do attitude to problem resolution and customer service
- The position requires regular travel to multiple customer sites and interstate travel.
