Engineering New Zealand Te Ao Rangahau is the professional home for engineers in New Zealand. As a membership organisation and the Registration Authority for Chartered Professional Engineers, we represent more than 22,000 members from graduates through to experts in their field. **About the role | Kōrero mō te tūranga**

Reporting to the Chief Executive and part of the Leadership Team, this role leads Engineering New Zealand’s regulatory services. These services include management of the registrar for chartered professional engineers, management of a complaints and disciplinary system, as well as other legal services (general counsel).

Key aspects of the role include:

- Competence Assessment
- Complaints Management
- Provide legal advice/general counsel to the organisation
- Risk Management
- People leadership
- Relationship management

**Desired skills and experience | Ngā tino pūkenga/whēako**

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

- Senior legal experience, preferably in-house counsel experience
- Team management experience
- Holds, or is eligible to hold, a New Zealand practising certificate from the New Zealand Law Society
- Experience in regulatory compliance and risk management
- Experience in complaints resolution, including alternative dispute resolution processes
