Internal Systems Lead
**About the Role**
As the Internal Systems Lead, you’ll shape the strategic direction of our IT function as we double our headcount across 3+ countries in the next 12 months. You’ll lead our internal IT function - which touches almost every aspect of our business. You’ll strengthen our internal infrastructure, and ensure our systems and processes empower our team to do their best work - unlocking efficiency, no matter where they are in the world. We’ve got the basics in place - you’ll take us to the next level.
**What your day will look like**:
- ** Own our internal systems strategy**:develop and deliver an IT roadmap aligned with our growth plans. You’ll play a critical role in unlocking limitations on team efficiency as we scale - going to the root of problems, and not being afraid to pursue novel solutions.
- ** Lead and grow our IT team**:manage, coach and support our existing IT team of one, and shape our IT function to grow with us as we scale.
- ** Strengthen and scale our foundations**:optimise and evolve our existing systems (Okta, Google Workspace, etc) and tackle gaps proactively.
- ** Level-up security**:Develop security practices that balance risk with how we work. Forget playbooks and box-ticking - we want a thoughtful, practical approach - no bureaucracy and red tape.
- ** Strategically manage vendors and licensing**: strategically assess tooling decisions using Vendorsage, manage spend, and help us get more sophisticated about evaluating new tools without creating barriers.
- ** Champion adoption and enablement**: unlock safe, efficient practices across the business. Lead change management efforts that foster engagement and ensure organisation-wide buy-in. Embed a culture of self service, knowledge sharing, and secure ways of working as a norm, not a chore.
- **Innovate and automate**:hunt down opportunities to use AI and automation to scale IT support, partner with other teams like Engineering and People Operations to reduce manual tasks and bridge gaps with customer-facing systems. Bring a fresh perspective and new ideas to how we do internal IT - we’re up for it
**What are we looking for**:
- Proven experience leading an IT team, or in a senior technical role with a strong interest in people leadership.
- Strategic thinker with people skills to match your technical depth. You go out of your way to build strong interpersonal relationships with our epic team, and have a genuine willingness to help solve issues - big or small.
- Deep knowledge of the internal IT space, cybersecurity, network administration, and SaaS management - you know where boundaries can be pushed, and how to manage risk smartly. As a cloud-native company, all our infrastructure is Linux-based, so Linux experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication and critical thinking. You bring people on the journey, translate technical strategy into operational impact, and problem solve from the ground up.
- Dynamic range. You’re comfortable switching between hands-on troubleshooting, and big-picture thinking. You lean into innovation and don’t always do things by the book.
- You love partnering with others to get things done, and are comfortable bridging gaps between technical and non-technical teams.
