Our Sterile Services Department at the brand new Waipapa Hospital are an integral part of ensuring quality service provision to our community. To ensure that we continue to offer the best patient care our key team keeps things running smoothly from behind the scenes. We provide a service to decontaminate, pack and sterilise instruments for the operating theatres and many other departments.
The Educator is responsible for the education, training and on-going support of all staff employed to work in Sterile Services including inter department in-servicing, assisting technicians in gaining Sterile Sciences accreditation whilst delivering Quality initiatives for department compliance. This role leads the standards of practice, updating IFU - s and managing the imbedded Quality Management System. You will work collaboratively with the Sterile Services leadership team to create, encourage and support a team work environment and provide communication and leadership by identifying team training needs and areas of development.

- Drives for superior personal and professional performance with an attention to detail with minimum 5 years Sterile Services experience.
- A high level of communication skills understanding various teaching methods.
- Able to accept change within the work environment.
- Builds trust and promote education visibility within sterile services.
- Mentor, train and coach on a daily basis to a team of 50+ Sterile Sciences professionals.
- Foster and sustain an environment for ongoing education and quality improvement including collaboration across both Sterile Services and CDHB departments.Mō mātou | About Us
