**Dynamic, experienced team**:

- ** Excellent career progression opportunity**:

- ** Chance to get out and about and away from being behind a desk**

Are you are a Senior Architect/Designer looking to make the right career move for the long term, and seize the chance to get out and about and away from being behind a desk? Our client has branches in both Rotorua and Whakatane and are looking for a Registered Senior Architect/Designer to join their Rotorua team. Rotorua displays the quintessential standard of unbeatable living within the regions. No traffic or parking issues, everything outdoors right on your doorstep and a central location with easy access to beaches, mountains, mountain biking and airports.

Senior Architects/Designers are the backbone to success of the company, who are well renowned for their work with the Ministry of Education directives and both commercial and residential work. As a key member of the team, you will work to independently manage projects from initial briefs, troubleshooting and seeing projects through to completion. You will also mentor junior and intermediate staff, conveying your knowledge and experience to enhance and grow their careers.

Our client is recognised for perfectionism, you need to be a person who is across the detail and can develop and manage intricate designs within budget expectations and ensure that compliance and building regulations are top priority. You will be involved in contract procurement and tenders and will have a proven track record building solid working relationships both internally and externally.

You must have sound understanding of:

- The New Zealand Building Code
- Building law and procurement principles and thorough knowledge of NZS 3604, 4121 and E2/AS1
- Good familiarity with The Building Act 2004, The Resource Management Act 1991, Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and;

Being a smaller team, part of the role will be about ensuring the workload of the technical staff is managed, you would be a significant trainer/mentor.

**What’s in it for you?**
Other than working for a reputable firm with a fantastic team, you will work in an environment that understands the need for flexibility for life that happens outside of work and a competitive remuneration package.

**The fine print**
It is essential you are a Registered Architect with the New Zealand Registered Architects Board, or be a Senior Architectural Designer, and have sound experience using Archicad and three years New Zealand based post registration experience.
