**About the position**

**Your skills and experience**

As a Senior Consultant you will define and develop high-quality solutions and guide junior team members to successfully deliver projects. You will have the industry experience under your belt to bridge the gap between business and technology.

As an senior software engineer you will have the following competencies:

- Development:

- 7+ years of software development experience in a **complex enterprise environment** using at least **two** of the following languages**:Python, NodeJS, Java, Rust, C#**.
- Experience with frontend frameworks such as **Angular** and **React**.
- Experience designing and implementing **microservice** based architectures.
- Experience designing, developing, and working with **REST APIs**.
- A passion to champion Test Driven Development (**TDD**) and Behaviour Driven Development (**BDD**).
- Experience designing and implementing **serverless **architectures.
- Platform:

- Real world experience designing, implementing, and operating highly-available **container platform** deployments using Kubernetes and/or OpenShift is essential.
- Real work experience with **Deployment automation and Configuration Management** using modern tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Cloud Formation, Terraform, etc.
- Experience implementing **CI/CD** tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, AWS CodeBuild and AWS CodePipeline etc. in a greenfield environment.
- Strong working knowledge of the Linux CLI.
- Data:

- Experience with modern relational databases (preferably **PostgreSQL**) and NoSQL databases (such as Elastic and MongoDB).
- Experience designing and implementing **messaging architectures** (AMQ, Kafka, Redis, Mule, etc.).
- Experience architecting, deploying, and maintaining the **ELK** stack including the design and development of **Kibana **dashboards to answer business questions.
- Significant hands-on experience with **cloud platforms** such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform for production workloads. (Certifications are a bonus.)
- Experience with Spark, Storm, Hadoop, Data Lakes/Marts, and AI/ML is a significant advantage.
- Architecture:

- Experience **architecting** complex software solutions to meet business requirements.
- Excellent working knowledge of Docker/Vagrant and the principles of **containerisation**.
- Testing:

- Experience improving code quality in a complex environment.
- Experience with a broad range of automated testing methodologies and tools.
- Leadership:

- A desire to lead technical teams to align with, and meet, business objectives.
- Experience coaching and mentoring junior staff in **Agile** methodologies.
- Good working knowledge of Agile project management principles including estimation - comfortable running a small SCRUM team.
- Comfortable leading technical discussions both with SECTION6 and customer technical staff.
- Able to liaise with client business staff and appropriately manage expectations to yield a positive customer experience.
