The Data, Digital and Insights (DDI) business group is working hard to build MBIE towards being digitally enabled and empowered by data - connected, trusted and innovative. In doing so, we ensure that MBIE can meet the needs of our customers (ministers, staff, business, Māori and community groups).
To help us on this journey, we have exciting opportunity for a Senior Advisor (Data Sharing) to join the team supporting our Director Data Sharing. In this role, you will ensure that MBIE’s data sharing requirements are met and its data sharing capability is uplifted.
You will be leading initiatives and projects that enable data sharing to support data insights and operational outcomes and embed appropriate data governance practices across MBIE. You will be working closely with the Director Data Sharing and the Principal Advisor (Data Sharing) to develop solutions to MBIE and its partners’ data sharing needs and facilitate cross-system work and partnerships.
In addition, you will be supporting the expansion of MBIE’s data sharing team through coaching, training, peer review and quality control and ensuring awareness of appropriate data sharing practices across the wider MBIE.

**We are keen to hear from you if you have**:
- Proven experience and knowledge in the development of data sharing arrangements between domestic and international agencies/organisations.
- Proven experience and knowledge in managing consultation processes with senior leaders, ministerial offices, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and other key stakeholders.
- The ability to quickly establish and build strong working relationships and to develop trust and credibility with senior managers, staff and key internal and external stakeholders
- The ability to introduce new ways of looking at problems and adopt creative new approaches
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- The ability to coach and train immediate team colleagues and wider organisational staff
- The ability to keep up with best practice data sharing principles and emerging trends
- Tertiary qualification, preferably in a relevant field or comparable relevant experience
- A working knowledge of Immigration and wider MBIE functions and processes is desirable.
