Charge Nurse, Oncology Outpatients

Our Oncology Outpatients Department is the largest in New Zealand and provides a fast-paced, complex clinical environment offering extensive opportunities for professional development. As a Charge Nurse, you will provide **clinical and professional leadership,** supporting nursing staff, patients, and their whānau throughout the cancer treatment journey.

**About the Role**

This role involves close collaboration with **Radiation Oncology and Medical Oncology multidisciplinary teams**, delivering care across Te Toka Tumai Auckland sites, regionally, and into community settings as the service expands.

You will have operational oversight and leadership responsibility for nursing teams working across:

- Chemotherapy Day Stay Unit
- Radiotherapy department
- Oncology Outpatient Clinics
- Acute Oncology Day Stay

As part of the senior nursing leadership team, you will play a key role in workforce coordination, prioritising workload, supporting safe clinical practice, and fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.

**About You**:
You are a motivated and experienced oncology nurse who is ready to take the next step in your leadership journey. You will bring:

- A strong commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori
- A current Annual practicing certificate
- A minimum of 4 years oncology experience, currently working in a senior nursing role or a level four chemotherapy certified Registered nurse with a strong oncology background.
- Demonstrated ability to work **autonomously and collaboratively**within multidisciplinary teams
- A Commitment to **evidence-based nursing practice**
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, decision-making and leadership skills
- Resilience, initiative, vision and a guanine desire to make a difference
- Post graduate qualification (preferred)
