The Strategy, Planning and Performance team is looking for a Principal Commissioning Manager, Families and Wellbeing who is passionate about transforming our health system to meet the needs of our people and communities. We're looking for someone skilled at developing strategic responses to strengthen the District's approach to commissioning. If you're passionate about working across the social determinants of health to achieve equitable health outcomes, and thrive in fast-paced, complex environments, this is a unique opportunity to be lead transformational change. You will:
- Drive system change that achieves equitable outcomes for Māori, Pacific communities and people with disabilities.
- Lead work to continuously refine and strengthen SPP's commissioning framework and approach, to increase the focus on prevention, population health and the social determinants of health with a view to address inequitable outcomes.
- Lead commissioning/re-commissioning processes to redesign system and service responses, to strengthen the District's population health investment and impact.
- Lead the development of District strategic frameworks, system plans and other strategic initiatives that support the District's transformation agenda, particularly in relation to wellbeing, population health and inter-sectoral priorities work programmes.
- Develop strong and sustained strategic relationships with iwi, other health providers, community groups, government agencies and city councils.Mō tō mātou rōpū ' About our team
Strategy, Planning and Performance is accountable for developing and implementing health system and service strategies across Capital and Coast and Hutt Valley District Health Boards. We adopt pro-equity approaches to commission integrated care for the people we serve. We use relationships with providers and our communities, system design and other planning and funding levers to transform the health system. Families and Wellbeing is people focused, with a particular responsibility for children and young people, maternity care and population health services.

**To be successful in this role you will bring**:
- Strong understanding of population health
- Strong understanding of commissioning in a health and social care setting
- Experience in developing and managing complex, inter-sectoral work programmes
- Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills
- Developing and maintaining collaborative and productive relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A relevant qualification in public health and/or systems thinking and design would be highly desirable. E pā ana ki a tatou ' About us
