Christchurch City Council's procurement team is the largest in the South Island and one of the largest in New Zealand. Our purpose is to support fair and transparent procurement, to help deliver sustainable, innovative and value-for-money whole-of-life public services. We are now looking for a Procurement Best Practice Lead to join our high performing and collaborative team.
This is an exciting opportunity to step in and take charge of the optimisation of Christchurch City Council's procurement standards, efficiency and effectiveness, and will see you:
- Support the continuous improvement of procurement capability and activities across the organisation and its supply chain in line with organisational requirements and other best practice
- Take responsibility for the continuous improvement and training delivery programme to internal stakeholders
- Lead the external communication for council with a range of relevant local and national stakeholders
- Working closely with the Senior Analyst and Special Project Team Leader to support the delivery of the operational procurement teams
- Develop and deliver supplier engagement workshops
- Lead procurement representation on Council sub-committees regarding procurement matters
**A bit about you**:
- You have at least 10 years strategic procurement experience, and hold a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline
- A natural go-getter, you will be a great communicator with the ability to build strong relationships
- Your inquisitive nature means you are not afraid to ask questions and look beyond obvious solutions
- You enjoy selling solutions and creating excitement around change
- You are highly organised with good time management skills
