**What you’ll be doing**:
This is an exciting opportunity to become our First DevOps Engineer within our well-established Customer Order Management (COM) platform, providing expertise and new ways of thinking. In this Senior role you will be working closely with Platform teams and our Business Partners to design, develop and deploy solutions that drive Chorus into the future.
Your role involves three key elements where you can leverage your previous experience:
**Developer and Dev/Ops Expertise**:
- Develop and maintain Java code for our COM Platform as part of highly efficient Agile team
- Design and manage CI/CD pipelines.
- Troubleshoot production issues and conduct root cause analysis in conjunction with your team.
- Enhance developer capabilities to drive delivery efficiencies.
**Collaboration & Reporting**:
- Build strong working relationships between our internal and external stakeholders.
- Coach and mentor our up-and-coming future software engineers.
- Provide 24/7 support for Platform activities if/as required
**Strategic Alignment**:
- Support the growth of our Internal Chorus Developer Capability by leading the way with initiatives and establishing our Developers Community of Practice
- Stay updated on new features and best practices within Dev Ops frameworks to implement and support improvements.
- Leverage new technology to improve efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness across the organization.
**What you’ll bring to the table**:
- 10+ years in Software Development
- Computer Science Degree Essential
- Highly proficient in Java code and other languages
- Experience in Telco / Chorus Integrated core systems
- Established experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Ansible
- Strong experience in System monitoring and logging tools
- Experience working in SRE or similar Dev Ops ways of working
- Well versed in leading a team and mentoring more junior Software Engineers
- Ability to work autonomously in a 24/7 support role
