Te Tākinatanga | _**Our Story**

At Contact, we believe home is the most important place in the world. It's all part of our vision to leave Aotearoa better than we found it. We’re a power and broadband company, but we’re so much more than that. We are transforming the ways we mahi, and how Aotearoa is powered, leading the charge on renewable energy and digitising customer journeys in ways not yet seen here. A team of 1000+ from all walks of life who love what we do, look out for each other, and learn from one another every day, we’re stoked to be guided by our tikanga: we touch lives to make life better.

**Job Description**:
**Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role**

We’re in growth mode at Contact, particularly when it comes to our geothermal generation portfolio. Right now, we are building our capability within our Reservoir Operations and Asset team, and we’re in search for a Geothermal Geochemist. The key purpose of this role is to carry out geochemical monitoring and analysis. You’ll provide expert advice on the sustainable management of our geothermal fields and focus on consent reporting to ensure we are compliant, and risks are reduced.

As a Geochemist a portion of your time may be spent outside where you’ll plan and oversee geochemistry and chemistry monitoring activities for all of our geothermal fields and power stations.

You will monitor reservoir performance, working alongside our geoscientists and reservoir engineers to ensure that geochemical data is integrated into the day-to-day management of the geothermal resource. This data will be captured in our well and reservoir information database and reported on.

This permanent, full-time role is Taupo based and reports into the Team Lead - Geochemistry.

**Qualifications**:
**Ko wai koe | About you**

Ideally, you’ll have experience as a Geothermal Geochemist but it’s not a deal breaker if you’re familiar with geothermal plant operation and associated process chemistry. You’ll have a tertiary qualification in science or engineering with a focus on chemistry.

This collaborative role interacts with a wide range of stakeholders from reservoir engineers, and development managers right through to external consultants and contractors. You will have strong analytical skills and your communication (verbal and written) skills will need to be top notch. You’re able to present your sampling and analysis in a clear and simple language, that tells a story that everyone can understand.

You’ll have a lot of autonomy and responsibility as you leverage your technical knowledge to make informed decision to drive value for Contact. This is a great opportunity for you to make a positive impact and help grow our geochemist capability.

Additional Information

There are a bunch of perks to being a permanent Contact kaimahi (employee). Along with great leadership, teammates, development, and growth and progression opportunities, you’ll enjoy flexible working, free health insurance cover, better-than-your-average leave, access to Contact Shares, a ‘Good to be Home’ annual payment toward your home set up & wellbeing, a trail-blazing parental leave policy, discounts on Contact Energy products, and more.
