The Orthopaedic Surgery Ward requires a Ward Clerk to join their friendly team. This position provides clerical support to the Charge Nurse and other members of the health care team enabling the Ward to meet its objectives.
This role requires high level customer contact and is varied, including the following duties: maintenance of patient's files, arranging and monitoring patient movements, communication and liaison, stock control and maintenance, making follow up appointments and assisting in ward management functions.
You will need to be reliable, with an excellent phone manner, the ability to work under pressure and be flexible. Good computer skills are essential.
Previous clerical experience is essential and knowledge of medical terminology and/or hospital systems would be advantageous.
This is a permanent part-time position. The shifts are 1530-2030 Monday to Friday, and Saturday 0700-1100 based at Starship Child Health.
