Protective Services sit within the wider Enterprise Protection unit under Operational Excellence. Protective Services respond to all physical security events and threat management from customer aggression through to robbery. We look after the physical security architecture in all BNZ sites.

We sat down with one of our Tīma (team) Leader's (who you'd report to), and they let us know the following about the role:
**What are 5 day-to-day tasks the person in this role will complete?**
- Guarding rostering
- CCTV and surveillance monitoring
- Report writing on security incidents
- Key stakeholder management
- Inspecting the guards performance and training
**What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?**
This is a new opportunity within BNZ, this is the first time we are going to have our own guarding model insourced.
**What is the most challenging thing about this opportunity?**
You are starting from nothing, you need to recruit and train the right people. There is nothing documented in regarding this function, its starting from ground zero. Because this is a new initiative there is pressure to get this right, so fail fast and rectify faster.
**What technical skills are REQUIRED for this role?**
Proficient on CCTV and report writing.
Having a stable base of highly qualified and respected guards throughout the country. Stakeholders will see a different in a higher quality of guards than previously through our guarding suppliers. Our guards will be constantly adding value and making BNZ a safer place to work.
