We are seeking a senior registered nurse with strong leadership and advanced nursing skills in paediatrics. This role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team to optimise the quality and effectiveness of service. In this role you will provide professional and clinical leadership, patient care co-ordination, education and clinical teaching to staff.
It is important that you can work autonomously, prioritise workload and work as part of a supportive senior nursing team committed to effective/evidenced based nursing practice.The successful applicant will have extensive nursing experience and be practicing at a senior level.
Starship Community has been transformed to provide responsive community-based nursing care to infants, children, young people and families within the Auckland area.
We are able to provide home-based acute and long-term care for children recently discharged from hospital, those with medical or disability needs, alongside Paediatric and Public Health needs.
This includes complex nursing care for Well Child|Tamariki Ora infants and pre-schoolers; Nurse-led clinics within low-decile schools, support for high-decile schools; and population school-based immunisation programmes for Year 7 and 8 students as well as Rheumatic Fever prevention. Our service principles enable us to prioritise care for Maori, Pacific, Migrant and Refugee-background families.
**To be considered for this role you must-**
- Be a registered nurse and have registration with NZ Nursing Council
- Maintain safe cultural practice and develop your cultural knowledge
- Have at least 5 years nursing experience
- preferably community
- Have excellent supervisory, communication and problem-solving skills are essential in order to relate to and work with staff and patients at all levels.
- Have project and quality experience
- Interact effectively with a multi-disciplinary Team and Service members
Ideally, you will hold or would be working towards a Post-Graduate Certificate or Diploma in specialty nursing practice.
