**About the Role**
We are seeking a Medical Registrar Advanced Trainee in Older Persons’ Health looking to further your Geriatric Medicine training by joining our Medical Department at Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital. The 2026 placements are 2 February 2026 and/or 3 August 2026.
We are accredited to deliver both Core A and Core B of the Geriatrics Curriculum, each for a duration of six months. Additionally, we offer provisional approval for a six-month Geriatric Medicine Registrar training position at the Basic Physician Training (BPT) level.
Our department is led by 5 Consultants with diverse subspecialty interests, including Dementia, Orthogeriatrics and Perioperative Medicine, Movement Disorders, Frailty, and Community Geriatrics. The successful applicant will be supported in developing competence in all aspects of the Geriatrics Curriculum with strong opportunities for audit and research interests, as part of a personalised training plan.
