**Position Description**: Pharmacy Manager
ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
Gisborne Hospital is the base hospital for the wide geographical area, Tairawhiti, extending up the East Cape of New Zealand. The region has a population of approximately 46,000 and is well known for its relaxed lifestyle and its beautiful rural and beach environments.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
At Gisborne Hospital our pharmacy department is responsible for a range of operational and clinical pharmacy services including (but not limited to) in-patient dispensing, chemotherapy clinical review and dispensing, medication reconciliation, provision of medicines information to patients and staff, participation in multidisciplinary meetings and ward rounds, weekend and on-call roster as well as helping in the training and development of trainees and other staff.

Based at Gisborne Hospital, you will have an opportunity to develop your leadership and management skills within a supportive environment and retain a clinical role. Maintaining and improving our pharmacy services will be a major focus and you will be involved in change leadership
You will have an opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills working with the Māori culture.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with other members of multidisciplinary team focusing on medication safety to implement the Health Quality & Safety Commission initiative. We will provide you with exciting work opportunities and offer you a platform to gain valuable clinical and leadership knowledge. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Would suit Pharmacist or Senior Pharmacy Technician
- Experience of working within a hospital or community pharmacy in New Zealand
- Excellent communication skills
- Evidence of leadership skills is essential and previous experience is desirable
