**About the role**

This is a rare opportunity for a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join an expanding team within the New Zealand Blood Service. This position is within the specialist Cell and Tissue Laboratory (CTL) in Auckland, which is responsible for cellular therapy (stem cell) processing and storage in support of the treatment of oncology patients. This team also undertakes other specialised blood component processing services and tissue banking. The tissue banking aspects of the role will include the processing, storage and issue of tissues such as bone, heart valves and skin for surgical use.

**To be successful in this role you will**:

- Be a Registered Medical Laboratory Scientist with the Medical Sciences Council of NZ
- Have experience working within a laboratory, preferably with cleanroom experience
- Have a positive, can-do attitude
- Have flexibility to participate in the department's on call roster as required
- Prior experience in stem cell, tissue and/or aseptic processing is desirable.
