Excellent customer service is one of our top priorities and you'll share our vision, making sure every customer who enters our facility has a great time with their family and friends and leaves with a smile on their face. You'll be a natural when it comes to problem-solving and thinking on your feet, and have the skills to communicate with a diverse range of customer groups.

You'll need to be a capable swimmer and have the ability to stay calm in busy and pressured situations.

Here's your opportunity to join our successful aquatics team. We'll provide all the training needed to become a NZ qualified Pool Lifeguard (which includes NCEA credits) and cover the cost of your First Aid Certificate if you don't already have one.

**Location and positions available;**

**Taiora QEII**: Full-time
- Tuesday & Thursdays: 1pm-9:30pm
- Wednesday: 1:15pm-9:45pm
- Friday: 9:30am-6pm
- Saturday: 11:30am-8pm

**Taiora QEII**:Part-time
- Monday: 9:30am-6pm
- Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 8am-4:30pm

***Pioneer Recreation & Sport Centre**: Full-time
- Tuesday & Fridays: 5am-1:30pm
- Wednesday: 1:15pm-9:45pm
- Thursday: 5:30am-2pm
- Saturday: 12pm-8:30pm

**Jellie Park**: Network Lifeguard
- Monday-Friday, various shift times

**Te Pou Toetoe****:

- Linwood**:Network Lifeguard
- Monday-Friday, various shift times
- _Full-time/part-time roles are based at one specific centre. Network roles and shifts can be worked across any of the Christchurch City Council facilities._

**Key parts of the process**:

- You'll be required to complete a swim test prior to your interview.** Included in the position description attachment is a copy of the swim test requirements**. You must be able to pass this swim test to progress. If you're not ready for the swim test, let us know, we're happy to give you some tips to practice
- Swim tests will be held Friday 16th June, Saturday 17th June and Monday 19th June, at Jellie Park.
- If successful after the interview stage you will be required to undertake two full days of Lifeguard Training with a follow-up assessment to gain your Pool Lifeguard Qualification. The cost of these courses is covered by Christchurch City Council. If you already hold a PLPC you will not need to attend the Lifeguard assessment day.
- Lifeguard training will be held on Monday 10th July & Tuesday 11th July, a Taiora QEII.
- Lifeguard Assessment will be held on Tuesday 18th July, at Jellie Park.

**Additional information**:

- $23.65 per hour starting rate
