There are two key parts to our business which reflect New Zealand's legislative requirements for the power system. As the Grid Owner, we own and operate the National Grid. As the System Operator, we are responsible for managing the real-time power system and operating the wholesale electricity market under the System Operator Service Performance Agreement. We are regulated by the Electricity Authority in accordance with the Electricity Industry Participation Code.

**About the Team**

Transpower's Markets Group in Wellington supports the operation of the electricity market, takes a lead role in the system operations relationship with the Electricity Authority and advocacy across the industry, and is responsible for security of supply analysis and forecasting, driving the implementation of market and business initiatives, and investigating how future market developments may impact system operations.

Within the group this role is part of the Market Services team which provides administrative and commercial support across Operations, and is responsible for business performance reporting, contract management, comms and engagement coordination, and information management.

**About the Opportunity**

As part of our enthusiastic team, you'll have the opportunity to be involved across the full breadth of the Operations division and work with all levels of the business, including senior leadership. With no two days the same you'll ensure effective delivery of the group's work programme, including:

- **Performance**: Coordinate the Operations group business and performance reporting for the system operator service (internally to the Operations Senior Leadership Team, the Transpower Executive General Management Team and Board, and externally to the Electricity Authority and its Board).
- **Market Services**: providing group-wide coordination and administrative support including but not limited to SmartMail and website communication, SharePoint and procedure document management, meeting coordination and the support of project initiatives as required.
- **Market Operations**: supporting the Market Operations team to deliver ancillary services, including the efficient, timely, and accurate delivery of ancillary service contract administration activities.

**Your CV, cover letter and previous work experience will demonstrate**:

- Demonstrated co-ordination and organisational skills as you'll co-ordinate contributions and the preparation of regular reporting to the Electricity Authority, Operations Senior Leadership team, and Transpower General Management Team, also for Board and committee meetings when required.
- Proven experience working in an administration/coordination or reporting role. In this role you'll coordinate the delivery of key publications, consultations and events, and support commercial processes key to delivering on our obligations as System Operator.
- Skills in the use of the Microsoft Word and ideally with, or willingness to become proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint, also other supporting tools such as Power BI, MailChimp and SurveyMonkey.
- Excellent relationship management and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to adapt and work calmy in times of pressure.
