The Ministry for Primary Industries are currently recruiting for a Domain Architect to join our Architecture & Assurance team based in Wellington.

Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role
As a Security Domain Architect, you will be acting as a trusted adviser to other Architects and technology specialists within the wider Business Technology & Information Services team on a range of matters in your domain of expertise. You will be responsible for developing our Digital Security roadmap and providing standards, patterns, and practices, ensuring that these are applied and adhered to across our solution architectures.
You will understand the industry direction, best practice, & standards associated with IT Security and using your understanding and experience to benefit MPI initiatives.

Mōu - About You
To be successful in this role, you will have extensive relevant Architecture experience at an Enterprise level from within a large and complex environment.
You will have proven experience with TOGAF or a similar framework, ArchiMate, and the Solution Development Lifecycle.

**Preferably, your technical experience will include**:

- Business consultancy or experience provide consultancy service to end users.
- Good IT security practices particularly within cloud platforms
- Cloud/COTS based architecture adoption & integration
- Knowledge of NZISM and how related risk controls are implemented through technology solutions.
- Understanding of different delivery methodologies from waterfall to SAFe.
- Understanding of management policies relating to the Treaty Principles and the Crown's obligations to Māori.

Importantly, you will be able to engage in business and technical conversations at various levels, have excellent communication skills, be proactive, drive, and &outcome focussed, and someone who is able to offer effective solutions to problems.

- most preferably a New Zealand citizen, who has resided continuously in New Zealand for at least the last five (5) years, OR
- is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five (5) years: either Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.
