Our Anatomical Pathology department is looking for a qualified Histology Scientist. Previous experience is preferred.

**This role requires participation in general histology duties including**:

- Histology Reception, registration, tissue processing and disposal
- Fresh Tissue Procedures e.g. frozen sections
- Tissue grossing examination
- Embedding and microtomy
- Staining (including special stains and Immunohistochemistry staining)
- Slide assembly and Quality Control checking including archiving
- Equipment Maintenance
- Non
- Gynae sample preparation

**To succeed in this role, you will need**:

- The ability to follow procedures and instructions
- A team focus with initiative, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Strong problem solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail with good record-keeping skills.
- Advanced understanding of biological science as well as in-depth knowledge of the techniques, methods and protocols used in histology
- Sound knowledge of laboratory operations including; safety, operation of equipment and hands-on practical experience.
