Roads Team Leader

We are seeking to appoint a Team Leader to our Roads Department.

This is a full-time, fixed term position through to the end of the season.
The main purpose of this role is to support the Head of Department to coordinate all aspects of operations across the department. A key requirement of this role is also to be available each morning to assist with any relief driving or road opening requirements.
In the absence of the HOD, the Roads Team Leader will have full responsibility for departmental operations so having a comprehensive understanding of all department processes, policies, and standards will be key.
We are seeking someone who has the confidence to set standards and help to create a high performing culture across the department. As we strive for continual improvement, our Team Leader will be expected to read the manuals, ask questions and be proactive in building knowledge through the documentation supplied.
About the role
- Identify and report any hazards as required
- Respond to weather & snow conditions, accordingly, ensuring the access road is managed in accordance with conditions
- Oversee the safe operation the road and car park facility
- Working to develop a comprehensive understanding of all department processes, policies, and standards
- Seek out opportunities to develop procedures and policies that will continue to make our department better
- Communicating any vehicle maintenance issues according and ensuring all departmental vehicles are always compliant throughout the season
- Delivery of awesome customer service by being attentive and pre-emptive to our guest requirements
- Always display a professional attitude and communicate well within a team

About you
- Class 2 Drivers License with Wheels endorsement
- Previous experience in Alpine Driving and confidence to train staff in this environment in a variety of light and heavy vehicles
- Previous experience in managing people in a Health & Safety focused Workplace, ability to work outdoors in all weather.
