Bula Tech Limited is an Auckland based Telecommunications company with operations throughout New Zealand. We are currently looking for Telecommunications Technicians based on the following specifications:
Job Title: Telecommunications Technician.
Job locations: Waikato, Auckland and Bay of Plenty.
Number of Positions: Up to 5 positions.
Employment Type: Permanent.
Days required: Rotating Roster and weekends as required.
Hours per week: Minimum 40 hours per week.
Hourly rate of pay: $28 to $35.
The Job duties will include:
- Strict adherence the minimum weekly targets, managing second tech progress, planning work schedule in advance and bring out maximum efficiency
- An ability to troubleshoot end-user and resolve various software, hardware and Networking issues (both wired and wireless) by providing effective and efficient information and Communication Technologies (ICT) support
- UFB (Ultra-Fast Broadband) network design and installation
- Installs maintains/repairs, test residential/small business telecommunications network services
- Programming SLIDs on ONT (Optical Network Terminal).
- Installation and configuration modem, routers and switches. Connects wires and cables to terminals, attach/detach various kinds of hardware to LAN (Local Area Network) environment.
- Mounting and Installation of BUDI, FTP, ONT and connecting to FAT, FFP and Cabinet.
- Fault diagnostic, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
- Application of computer and networking skills to ensure network security and performance within Chorus and/or UCG/Visionstream standards in final phase.
- Accurately test Network Hardware (Modems, Routers, Switches, Cabling and other Network related equipment’s).
- Fibre Optic cabling and Fusion Splicing in commercial and domestic properties (FTH Project).
- Maintain, repair, tests Fibre Optic and Data Cabling in commercial and residential properties.
- Performing Administrative tasks including, but not limited to documenting test results and As-builts, completing safety report and consents form and etc.
- An ability to Determine software and hardware requirements to provide solutions to problems
- Liaison with UCG/Visionstream and Chorus team members and maintain effective and healthy communication to fulfil technical requirement of the all projects.
- Daily reporting to management and UCG/Visionstream and Chorus representatives
- Optimum usage of inventory, instruments and equipment and accountability
- Strictly adhering to Health and Safety procedures with priority on daily and ongoing basis.
**Salary**: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour

- 8 hour shift
