This is a key leadership role within this industry leader. The North Island Transport Manager will play a key role in directing, coordinating, and overseeing the critical activities within the organisation’s North Island Operations.

A true homegrown success story, they have grown over the last 30 years to now operating over 100 sites and with 1000s of commercial partners across New Zealand.

As the North Island Transport Manager, you will need to bring a strong sense of commerciality and problem-solving abilities to the table and contribute to the smooth running of the NI operations. Along with your team, you will be responsible to ensure bulk material/products are delivered in the most efficient and timely manner that meets all legal requirements and customer satisfaction.

**Key Responsibilities include**:

- Maintaining staff levels across the network, and appropriate rostering to maintain service level agreements with customers
- Ensuring the safety of staff from fatigue and injury
- Working with Health and Safety Manager to ensure the safety and security of staff are looked after across the network
- Oversee bulk material and commercial scheduling within the North Island network
- Maintaining close relationships and act as key liaison with key commercial partners

**About you**:
First and foremost, you need to be an excellent problem solver for internal and external challenges that may arise. Due to the nature of the role, you may be needed during non-standard hours (24/7), especially in events of crisis management, plus travel to key locations in the North Island.

You will be an accomplished people leader, supporting four direct reports across the North Island network, from Whangarei to Wellington.

Due to the nature of the product being transported, it is ideal if you hold a Dangerous Goods Licence, but not essential.

The role will come with a competitive salary package and full use of a company vehicle.
