As one of two, Business Support Team Leaders, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of administration and support functions across the Council. Reporting to the Manager - Business Support, you'll work collaboratively with your fellow Team Leader to provide operational management and leadership, driving a culture of high performance and collaboration while ensuring service excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership: Inspire, empower, and motivate your team to achieve organisational goals, while role-modelling the Council's shared values.
- Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day activities, manage workflows, and ensure smooth service delivery aligned with business objectives.
- Customer Focus: Champion stakeholder-focused operations, resolve customer issues, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Strategic Relationships: Build collaborative relationships within the Council and with external stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
**About you | Ko Koe Tēnei**
We are seeking a motivated professional who can bring a blend of leadership expertise, operational management skills, and customer-centric thinking. You'll have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in business management or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in office management or a similar role, including 2+ years in leadership.
- Strong understanding of the Construction Contracts Act 2002 and demonstrated experience with procurement, progress claims and purchase orders, ideally using SAP.
- Strong skills in stakeholder management, legislation interpretation, financial management, and Microsoft Office tools.
- Exceptional communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to lead and inspire teams.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and a passion for driving innovation.
