We are now looking for a Customer Communications Manager to backfill a position due to an exciting internal promotion
- Reporting to the Director of Customer and External Communications and working within the Global Communications team, you’ll work closely with the Customer and go-to-market teams to develop impactful communications plans and content that showcase Xero’s innovative, customer-centric brand and business.

This will include coordinating and publishing content for the Xero blog as a key customer channel, supporting and leading on significant customer change projects as well as seeking opportunities to showcase our customers in new and engaging ways.

You’ll be a pro at writing impactful media releases, bylines, blogs, Q&As, messaging and briefing documents, as well as turning your creative hand to presentations and supporting video content. You’ll also provide strategic input to create well thought out communications strategies to maximise positive impact for Xero.

In addition to supporting key customer campaigns and projects, you will also support our Sustainability team developing effective and authentic external communications plans and materials to share Xero’s progress to external audiences including customers, partners and media.

**What you'll do**:

- Develop and execute global external communications plans for projects to Xero’s customer audience
- Support complex global customer initiatives with well considered external communications
- Work closely with other Global Communications, Sales, and Marketing functions to deliver effective communications projects
- Write impactful and engaging content for customers and external channels
- Ensure our customers and customer facing teams have timely, accurate information on key projects
- Identify topics in the customer space, research and write content for media that positions Xero as an advocate for small business globally
- Coordinate the Xero blog editorial calendar to ensure the blog remains an effective customer communications channel with accurate, relevant and timely content
- Help to build the thought leadership program and content for the customer function
- Support the Sustainability team with effective and engaging external communications and content - including writing proactive content, identifying external opportunities to profile our progress

**What you'll bring**:

- 5+ years of experience in communications, or PR agency
- BA in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or Marketing (preferred)
- Exceptionally skilled writer with a flare for storytelling and ability to write engaging content under pressure
- Ability to multi-task and quickly prioritise projects
- Able to identify areas of opportunity and improvement
- Understanding of the small business sector globally and the issues and opportunities for helping it develop to its best potential
- GoogleSuite, Asana, WordPress, Adobe AEM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience (highly desirable)
- High level of hustle and energy, resilience, creativity, humour and team spirit to the role
