Electricity Network Planning Engineer
- Full-time
- Department: Network Performance
- Engagement type: Permanent - Employee

**About Us**
If you love working with a diverse group of people who are all about putting the customer at the centre and enabling choice, you’ve found the right company. The energy sector is transforming at a rate of knots, and we want you to join us and be part of this transformation. Vector is a proudly Aotearoa-owned company, which operates a range of innovative businesses delivering energy and communication services to more than one million homes and commercial customers across Australasia and the Pacific. These services include electricity and gas connections, solar solutions, high speed fibre, BBQ gas bottles, air and water purification and much more - all of which are transforming the energy sector in one way or another.

Because we live in a world that is changing fast, we must continue to identify and develop better solutions that will provide value, choice and service for our customers throughout New Zealand and beyond, so the environment and communities we love continue to thrive. To do this, Vector has a vision of creating a new energy future, which will help to deliver clean, reliable and affordable energy solutions for customers.

**About the role**
How many roles offer you the sort of job satisfaction you’ll get from playing a central role in creating the future of Auckland’s electricity system, with decarbonisation and sustainable energy solutions front of mind? You’ll contribute to integrating new customer demands and energy technologies (E-Transport, electrification, solar, batteries) cost-efficiently and reliably into the electricity network, keeping us at the cutting-edge of development.

Auckland's electricity network continues to grow at a rapid rate to support our thriving city. As Network Planning Engineer, you’ll help plan the development of the network to ensure we meet future demand and customer expectations, in order to enable customer choice and to provide reliability, affordability and flexibility for generations to come.

You’ll help identify pinch-points and recommend solutions to maintain a safe and reliable continuous supply of power. You’ll also be the linchpin responsible for engaging with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring we’re involving the right people and effectively managing expectations.

Consideration of technologies such as solar PV and electric vehicles, as well as identifying smart technology opportunities for deployment, adds to the challenge. Your eye for continuous improvement will be critical here, and to ensuring the development of strong relationships across the team and with stakeholders.

**Who we are looking for**
- You’ll have 3 years+ experience in an electricity distribution/engineering environment, backed by at least a bachelors-level degree in electrical or power systems engineering (or related discipline)
- You’ll couple this technical understanding with an aptitude for effective stakeholder engagement and management, and demonstrate excellent communication skills
- You’ll have sound project management and financial and economic modelling skills, and be adept at analysing large data sets and drawing concise conclusions from them.

If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you

**What we can offer you**
We love working together to create a new energy future. If you want to be part of an organisation with a real and tangible purpose, Vector could be the place for you.
We offer:
