We are looking for a Technician at beginner or intermediate level to join our team in Christchurch on a casual basis This role is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop or kick-start their career, as on-the-job training is provided.

In this role, you will be expected to perform field and lab testing to a high level of accuracy.

The work will be hands-on and physical, and therefore requires a reasonable degree of physical capability and, at times, may involve working in adverse environmental conditions. The nature of the work may require early starts, late finishes and occasional overtime.

**About you**:
You will ideally have completed a degree or a diploma in Geography, Geology, Earth Sciences, Mechanical Engineering or Environmental Science and have 0-2 years' work experience.

We are seeking an individual that brings their personality to the role, prides themselves on providing flawless customer service and strives for just a little bit more.

You will require excellent communication skills and the flexibility to adapt quickly to change. You should be able to work autonomously with mínimal supervision but also collaborate with team members when required. You will have the passion to deliver work to high standards, as well as meticulous attention to detail and quality. You should also be
- Able to focus on strategic priorities of the business while delivering business as usual work;
- Passionate about people;
- Naturally looking for solutions "outside of the square" when solutions are not obvious;
- Able to make calculated, rapid decisions under pressure and understand the impact of those decisions throughout the business;
- Able to look at situations from both a commercial and customer perspective;
- Able to prioritise workload and convey to others when there may urgency required to fulfil customer expectation;
- Confident in networking situations;
- Practical, with good tool skills and a "Kiwi No 8 wire" mentality;
- A good communicator;
- Have experience driving manual transmission vehicles;
- Able to lift items weighing 20+ kg on a regular basis; and
- Computer literate, especially Microsoft Excel and Word.
