**Key responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with other information security consultants and ministry stakeholders for providing high quality information security assurance and consultancy services that enable business needs while ensuring compliance.
- Assist in developing strategies to lift the Te Tāhū o te Ture 's collective cyber security capability through the establishment of robust training and awareness programmes and the development of supporting policies, standards, practices and guidance.
- Perform scoping, budgeting, planning, and management of information security assurance work to meet security objectives and organisational goals.
- Perform on-going security assurance activities such as security certification and accreditation (C&A), security testing and security advisories.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across Corporate & Digital Services (CDS) and the wider Te Tāhū o te Ture to foster a positive security culture and ensure a joined-up approach to security governance and assurance.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring reporting mechanisms for information.
- Support the Security Assurance Manager in fulfilling Information Technology Security Manager (ITSM) accountabilities as defined in the NZISM with a key focus on security policy, risk management and assurance elements of the role.
- Ensure closely aligned work across Resilience and Assurance Services and the Chief Digital Office to maximise opportunity and value delivery.

**To be successful in the role you will have**:

- Extensive experience in cyber security consultancy, risk and assurance and information security management
- Excellent understanding of the information and technical security issues faced by large enterprise organisations and the security industry
- Strong team player with demonstrable track record in sizing, scoping and resourcing risk and assurance projects
- Fantastic attention to detail, time management, stakeholder management and multi-tasking capabilities
- Proactive customer and business focussed approach
- Understanding of Te Ao Māori, Te Reo Māori me onā tikanga

The Security Assurance team is accountable for the Ministry's ICT and information security risk and assurance. We are part of the greater Resilience and Assurance Services (RAS) team. RAS maintain and assure protective security and privacy strategy, policy, guidelines and processes to ensure that protective security (including cyber security, physical security and personnel security) and privacy risk across Te Tāhū o te Ture is understood and managed appropriately.
We facilitate the security assurance processes to ensure that information security risks are identified and mitigated appropriately throughout the project lifecycle and operational processes. We also assist in maintaining security policies and processes and provide user awareness training on day-to-day activities to ensure everyone at the Ministry has access to information that allows them to perform their jobs safely.
In our security assurance team, we offer flexible working (a hybrid work-from-office and work-from-home) model, focus on professional development of our people and ensure a good work-life balance.

Utu ā-tau/Salary

**Salary Range**: The appointing salary for this role will be between $144,068 and $203,390 based on skills and experience.
