Vascular and Interventional Research Unit (VIRU) is a world-renowned team of Clinical Research Coordinators, specializing in First in Human Clinical Trials, some of which are First in World. The expertise of the VIRU Clinical Research Coordinators is recognised worldwide, as they support and participate in innovative research here in New Zealand.
VIRU also participate in a number of single centre, multi-centre and randomised studies, as well as post market Registries.
The expertise of the unit lies in medical devices supporting innovation, with the aim of further developing therapeutic treatments for vascular patients.

Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

Vascular and Interventional Research Unit (VIRU) is looking for a Clinical Research Coordinator to join our team.

**As a Clinical Research Coordinator**:
You will work alongside Study sponsors, Study participants and Clinical teams to support their involvement as a provider of a healthcare service.
Be the main point of contact for the studies you look after.
You are responsible for all study activity, including patient recruitment, patient follow up and safety reporting.
You have a “can do” attitude and a commitment to excellence. You will be a strong patient advocate.
You will support and assist in the operating theatre and interventional radiology suite during clinical trial procedures.

This is a challenging role with a varied day-to-day routine, requiring a high level of adaptability and critical thinking.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

To be successful in this role, we are looking for the following requirements:
Qualifications in Nursing, Health Sciences or Biomedical Sciences.
Previous experience in clinical research coordination.
GCP Certification.
Sound communication skills & a strong attention to the details.
Strong interpersonal skills & a high level of personal responsibility.
Ability to multi-task and adaptable.
Able to impart knowledge in both technical and lay terms.
