**The opportunity**

Our client is looking for a passionate and personable manager to lead their small enforcement team, bringing with them an educational and collaborative approach to enforcement and community engagement.

With an emphasis on changing behaviours and supporting regulated agencies, this a great opportunity for someone with a regulatory and compliance expertise and mindset to lead and develop the existing team, systems and processes and take them to the next level.

You will be joining supportive and collegial team, with a great culture, and report to a manager who has an empowering and trusting leadership style. With 5 weeks annual leave, a wellbeing allowance, and a managed sick leave plan, this is a great opportunity to be part of a small community in the Greater Wellington Area.

**The role**

This a tier 3 role where you will be leading a team of 6 technical experts to deliver regulatory services to ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities. You will be responsible for:

- Leading investigations, compliance monitoring and enforcement activities
- Building capability and lead the growth and development of an evolving team
- Engaging with the community to achieve successful enforcement outcomes
- Ensuring all activities undertaken by the team are in accordance with statutory requirements and are procedurally correct
- Advising the leadership team of changes to legislation and making ongoing improvements to systems and processes

**About You**

You are someone with a regulatory and compliance mindset, who is able to bring an educational and collaborative approach to enforcement and community engagement, and you will have:

- 5+ years’ experience in an enforcement related role
- Sound knowledge of statutory regulations and legislative compliance
- A commitment to using enforcement and compliance in a manner that encourages sustainable behaviour changes
- A proven ability to provide practical and innovative solutions to regulatory matters and challenges
- A passion, desire and the ability to lead people and a team
- A full clean driver’s licence and be eligible to work in New Zealand
