Senior Finger Joint Machinist

**SENIOR FINGER JOINT MACHINIST**

Located 5 minutes south of the Rotorua CBD, Red Stag Timber operates Waipa Mill, New Zealand’s largest timber manufacturing site. With leading edge technology the mill is the largest stand-alone operation in NZ, producing structural timber for both the domestic and export markets.
- NZQA L3/4 Finger Jointing
- 10+ years work experience in a remanufacturing plant
- Experience with set-up and running high-speed (100 lug/min) Western Pneumatics lug jointer or Grecon TURBO S batch jointer and sound knowledge of machine safety
- Experience with knife/ cutter head grinding
- Good eye for detail and quality systems
- May have held a mentoring/ leadership position

The successful applicant must be a reliable, physically fit team player with a “safety first” attitude.

The wage range payable of $32-$38 per hour reflects the experience level required for this role with overtime rates for hours worked over 40 hours per week.

Pre-employment drug testing and medical screening applies. Will require references from at least 2 most recent employers and may be required to complete mechanical and numerical reasoning tests as part of the selection process.
