We offer dedicated analytical services and scientific input across a variety of industries via a well-equipped laboratory facility, based in Auckland’s central suburb of Penrose. LABTEC provides a range of testing and laboratory services from small scale product manufacture through to independent product QC analysis, analysis of diesel exhaust fluids and environmental methamphetamine contamination testing.

**Description**:
LABTEC is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our team in Auckland and provide technical and scientific support for a diverse range of testing capabilities and formulation work.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Sample Receipt - record accurate details of samples received and ensure complete chain of custody
- Preparation and analysis - prepare samples for analysis using appropriate analytical techniques such as HPLC, LCMS, MP-AES, GC or XRF
- Quality control - adhere to all quality control requirements
- Continuous improvement - proactively take steps to learn and understand test methods and procedures
- Housekeeping and sample disposal - keep lab areas clean, ensure glassware is washed promptly, and samples are disposed appropriately and according to schedule
- Actively engage with Workplace Health, Safety & Environment procedures

**Skills and Experiences**:
This is an entry level position, but the following is advantageous:

- Experience with wet chemical analysis and instrumental techniques, such as HPLC, GC, MP-AES, XRF.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Have the ability to meet tight deadlines & work under pressure
- Be reliable & self-motivated
- Be a team player
- Passion for continuous improvement
- Demonstrated understanding of chemical safety
