LABTEC provides a range of testing and laboratory services from small scale product manufacture through to independent product QC analysis, analysis of diesel exhaust fluids and environmental methamphetamine contamination testing.

**Description**

LABTEC is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our team in Auckland and provide technical and scientific support for a diverse range of testing capabilities and formulation work.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**

  • Sample Receipt - record accurate details of samples received and ensure complete chain of custody
  • Preparation and analysis - prepare samples for analysis using appropriate analytical techniques such as HPLC, LCMS, MP-AES, GC or XRF
  • Quality control - adhere to all quality control requirements
  • Continuous improvement - proactively take steps to learn and understand test methods and procedures
  • Housekeeping and sample disposal - keep lab areas clean, ensure glassware is washed promptly, and samples are disposed appropriately and according to schedule
  • Actively engage with Workplace Health, Safety & Environment procedures

**Skills and Experiences**

This is an entry level position, but the following is advantageous

  • Experience with wet chemical analysis and instrumental techniques, such as HPLC, GC, MP-AES, XRF.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Have the ability to meet tight deadlines & work under pressure
  • Be reliable & self-motivated
  • Be a team player
  • Passion for continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated understanding of chemical safety
