Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity Come and join us to lead our Greater Wellington and South Island regional Communications & Engagement team. You will be responsible for a large high performing group of people who manage the communications and engagement planning and delivery for transport infrastructure programmes, projects, operations, and customer journeys. You will join a highly experienced leadership group working across the country to connect our transport work with Māori, local government, other partners, stakeholders, and communities, ensuring people in your region can participate and engage in our projects, and be well-informed about travel plans. In your role as a Regional Manager you will coach and mentor your team to grow and develop, and champion best practice engagement and communications approaches. You will also champion our group internally with key stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes for communities are bought to the decision-making table. This is a high influence role in a Regional Leadership Team where you will be responsible for helping to set the culture, values, and key relationships in the region. We offer significant training and development, including technical upskilling and leadership coaching. Ko koe'tēnei | About you To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Experience at a senior level managing large communication and engagement teams within large complex organisations
- Proven experience in leading, influencing and building credibility across a range of stakeholders, senior managers and their teams
- Strong expertise in developing and delivering iwi, stakeholder and community engagement and communication strategies or work programmes
- Excellent risk management, writing, editing and presentation skills

You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
