**About the Role**

**About Us**

The Oximetry Service is a newly formed part of the Respiratory Department at Health New Zealand Waitematā that assesses patients who are suspected of having sleep apnoea. This is done by issuing the patient with a monitor that they wear overnight to detect changes in blood oxygen level and heart rate.

Health New Zealand Waitematā provides health services to approximately 650,000 residents of the North Shore, Waitakere, and Rodney areas. It has the largest population of any district health area.

**About you**

The PCA will be the first point of contact for patients so to be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with practical experience dealing with the general public, including interacting with people from a wide range of cultural backgrounds.

Excellent computer skills are required as well as the ability to be self-motivated, proactive, display initiative and work with mínimal supervision.

Experience working in a hospital setting and using hospital specific computer programs (e.g for clinic scheduling and patient records) will be viewed favourably but training will be provided for the right applicant.
