**About the role**

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Intelligence Analyst to join the Aviation Security and Infrastructure Group. This role will see you share your time with the** **Combined Threat Assessment Group (CTAG). CTAG is an independent, multi-agency unit hosted within the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS).

As a Strategic Intelligence Analyst you will inform the “intelligence process” by gathering, analysing and evaluating all-source information to produce impactful intelligence assessments on issues relevant to New Zealand’s aviation and wider national security. You will represent CAA and CTAG in a liaison capacity; where you will be required to present complex information, and/or convince or persuade others to gain their co-operation to achieve specific intelligence objectives.

The role can be varied and evolving in nature, therefore a sound judgement and awareness of domestic and international policy settings, and the geo-political and threat environment, will ensure the Strategic Intelligence Analyst produces coherent and well-reasoned assessments, identifies emerging trends and anticipates customer requirements.

**What You’ll Bring**

To be successful in this role you’ll bring
- A relevant tertiary qualification requiring a high level of research, analytical and evaluative skills or relevant and equivalent experience.
- Proven high order analytical, critical thinking and report writing skills.
- An understanding of New Zealand government processes, particularly in national security and foreign affairs.
- Experience in Aviation security threats, threat assessment and/or risk management.
- Capacity to develop independent analytical judgment across a range of areas.
