**The Role**

As an Underwriter you will be responsible for the strategic management of allocated broker portfolios to achieve planned growth and profit objectives. While nurturing and managing broker relationships, you will also identify and develop substantial business opportunities. You will analyse broker portfolios by segmentation to develop business plans for allocated brokers to meet growth and profit objectives and will also carry out special projects to implement IAG NZ's broker strategy.

In addition to your allocated brokers, you will assist the Regional Manager on Key accounts.

**Who are you**

To really hit the ground running in this role, you will need to bring at least 2 years of experience in the Commercial marine insurance market.

You will have experience relating to product management, competitor activity and insurance underwriting, as well as strong relationships within the broker network. You will have a proven track record of system and process improvement. You will have superior communication skills and a strong commitment to your technical and personal development. Ideally you will also be qualified as an ANZIIF Senior Associate or Fellow.
