Te tūnga | The role
In this role your focus will be on building and modernising the processes and workflows that transform raw unstructured data collected from our household surveys into an analytical datasets for use by other analysts in the unit. You'll build strong relationships with the rest of the Wealth & Poverty Statistics unit, as well as the Work & Wellbeing unit. Your team includes other analysts with a data science specialty who are responsible for building and updating the system.

- Bachelor's degree in relevant field (computer science, statistics, information management etc.) and that has a significant data component, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience using R or Python.
- Preferably experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN
- Preferably experience with Stats NZ EPIC systems, including Pentaho.
- Background knowledge Stats NZ's survey support infrastructure is highly desirable.
- Evidence of ability to work as part of a collaborative team and development environment.
