**About the role**

The Operating Theatres at Christchurch Health Campus are looking for people wanting to work in a fast paced, rewarding career where if you bring motivation, energy, initiative and a desire to learn with on the job training you need to fulfil this role.

As an Operating Theatre Assistant (OTA) you - ll be working cooperatively with team members and staff to assist all areas of the Operating Theatre Department.

Duties and responsibilities:

- Transporting and transferring patients.
- Collecting equipment for surgical procedures across all specialties from paediatrics to neurosurgery.
- Setting up and cleaning theatres.
- Managing linen and supplies.
- Ordering stock

Salary starting from $60,100 to $70,358 per annum. Based on the NZNO Nursing and Midwifery collective agreement

**About You**

Full training will be provided to all new staff joining our team.

**Skills and Experience**
- A high level of fitness - pushing beds, trolleys and walking up to 15 kms per day.
- Previous experience as an Operating Theatre Assistant preferred
- Reliable with excellent time management
- Discretion and confidentiality coupled with a strong work ethic.
- Motivated and flexible self-starter with the ability to work both in a team and autonomously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively
- Good Computer Skills
