Napier City Council is seeking a dynamic and driven Community Resilience Advisor for a fixed five month term to lead the charge in strengthening neighbourhood networks, enhancing emergency preparedness, and fostering inclusive, connected communities.

- Grow and support neighbourhood networks through Napier Neighbourhood Support
- Lead community programmes aligned with Safer Napier and Council strategies
- Build strong partnerships with Police, Fire and Emergency NZ, Civil Defence, and local organisations
- Empower the voluntary sector with training, resources, and funding opportunities
- Drive meaningful engagement through outreach, events, and storytelling
- Manage systems, reporting, and strategic planning to ensure impact and accountability

- A relevant tertiary qualification in community development, emergency management, or similar
- 3-5 years’ experience in a senior advisory or community-focused role
- Proven leadership, facilitation, and relationship-building skills
- Strong understanding of emergency preparedness and resilience principles
- Experience working with iwi, multicultural communities, or marginalised groups is a plus

This is a fixed-term opportunity covering a period of parental leave, expected to run until 16 January 2026. You will be working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and based in Napier CBD.
Salary for this position ranges from $80,000-$95,000 per annum (including KiwiSaver), with exact remuneration depending on skills and experience.
