Here at Auckland Transport we are taking Auckland's transport system into the future, connecting our city to give kiwi's easy journeys. This role will lead and manage the Commercial Services Capital advisory team as well as lead and provide day to day commercial advice and input across Auckland Transport's capital projects and investment programmes. This role and the Commercial Services capital team supports our transport capital procurement initiatives and works with Project teams on all aspects of project development and delivery. In doing so you and the team will quickly earn a reputation as "trusted advisors". You will also be part of the Commercial Services Group management team within Integrated Networks. **Key Tasks of the role will include**: - Delivering commercial advice across capital projects and programmes. This might include reviewing commercial, financial, and contractual implications and requirements of specific project or programme areas and issues and supporting respective Project Directors with the overarching strategy to progress the project or specific project activities. - Contributing to functions, activities and areas that are undertaken by the ATs commercial centre of excellence as well as providing input to the Commercial Services Unit's strategy and planning (with other Tier 4 managers), in particular capital advisory aspects. - Supporting key stakeholder relationships on projects with internal groups and external organisations. - Supporting the identification, evaluation and implementation of new funding and project delivery improvement opportunities for major projects you are working on. - Working with Project Teams guiding them in the development, implementation and management of procurement and commercial strategies. - Leading and directing commercial and contractual negotiations with, project counter-parties and suppliers particularly in contracting / tendering aspects and in NZS 391X. **What are we looking for?** - A tertiary degree qualification is required in commerce, law, management or related discipline. - Professional membership in industry association - Programme, commercial and project management qualifications - 15 plus years' experience in a commercial advisory and management, professional services and / or strategic business management role in government or private sector project delivery, with a focus on capital projects delivery - Experience of business case development, preferably in the transport sector **What's in it for You?** AT is also committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace where people come first, we feel safe, respected, valued and supported, regardless of our differences.
