Auckland City, New Zealand Auckland Council Full time

Focus on the selection, acquisition, management, and access to Auckland Libraries’ electronic resources.
- Permanent, 20-hour opportunity, based at the Central Library
- Flexible working arrangements available

**He angitūtanga: The opportunity**
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Planning and Development team as an Electronic Resources Librarian. Based at the Central City Library, you will be part of a team of experts focused on providing collections which inspire and delight Auckland’s diverse communities and customers. Our electronic collections, including eBooks, eAudiobooks, streaming video and online resources, are a critical part of our collection and continue to grow in popularity.

Tasks are varied but include: monitoring expenditure on collection resources and assisting with electronic collections budget preparation, providing sound and timely advice and recommendations on all aspects of subscription online resources, and researching and monitoring future delivery models and formats.

You will work closely with research, literacy, reading engagement, and capability specialists to grow and promote skills and knowledge of online resources amongst staff and customers to increase access and use. You’ll also work with key partners and specialists in procurement, ICT, and finance to streamline and manage effective and timely acquisition processes, as well as manage and grow effective supplier relationships.

The role will require you to participate in team and unit-wide initiatives that improve content services and outcomes for library customers. A range of training and professional development opportunities will be available, and you’ll be working closely with and learning from an expert and dedicated team of collections professionals.

**He kōrero mōu: About you**
You bring with you a sound understanding of the role of electronic resources in a public library or equivalent environment, along with excellent digital and information literacy. Flexibility and proactive problem solving are key attributes as each day can be different and we are often juggling a variety of tasks and projects. You have a genuine curiosity about how emerging technologies can benefit customers and staff, and the ability to interpret and work with data to inform decisions.

You enjoy working collaboratively in a team environment and are generous with your knowledge and keen to learn from others. You have strong interpersonal, advocacy and communication skills and the capacity to maintain positive and effective relationships and partnerships.

You have a tertiary qualification in library or information science or similar and 5+ years’ relevant library experience.

**Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer**

Along with the benefits that come with being a part of Auckland's largest employer, you will also be part of Australasia's largest public libraries and can make an impact in one of New Zealand's fastest growing cities.

You will be part of team of supportive, professional librarians who know their stuff and are also working on some exciting service improvements.

This is a permanent, part-time position working 20 hours Monday to Friday. The role offers variety and some flexibility around hours of work. Some working from home is an option.

Come and be part of an exciting team making a difference to Aucklanders.
