Lead the charge toward analytics literacy for our Generation team at Mercury.

In this newly created role, you'll deliver insights and build scalable, reusable data products that drive smarter decisions across the business.

There is flexibility for this role to be based at one of our Generation sites or at our Tauranga, Rotorua or Hamilton offices.

**Key Responsibilities Include**:

- Discover insights by exploring data and understanding business processes.
- Design and deliver efficient, reusable data pipelines and analytical products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional squads, including Data Engineers, Technical BAs, and Delivery Leads.
- Champion best practices in analytics engineering and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

**We are looking for**:

- A tertiary qualification in Data & Analytics, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Commercial experience, with at least three in a Data & Analytics role.
- Proven experience in analytical roles (e.g. Business Analyst, Insights Analyst).
- Strong SQL skills and familiarity with languages like Python, PL/SQL, TSQL,.Net, or Java.
- Solid data modelling knowledge (3NF, Data Vault, Dimensional).
- Experience with RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) and modern data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, DBT, Cloud Services).
- Familiarity with data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau, OBIEE).
- Bonus: Knowledge of the energy industry and exposure to AI/ML technologies.
