**About the role | Ko te mahi nei**

As a Senior Building Inspector, you will be supporting your team members with technical advice and mentoring. You will also contribute to process improvement initiatives to result in effective end to end systems and a better service to customers. You will undertake a variety of tasks across a range of industries with a primary focus on plumbing and drainage matters.

**About you | Ko Koe Tēnei**

The successful applicant will have strong customer service skills with the ability to adjust and communicate effectively with diverse customer groups along with excellent interpersonal skills. Ideally you will also have:

- A regulation 18 qualification - you may be working towards this. Find out more about reg 18 here
- RES 3 competency.
- 10 years of experience in the building/construction industry, including substantial experience in plumbing and drainage
- At least 3 years of experience within a Building Consent Authority or similar in New Zealand.

- _ Location_ - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street_
