Mō te tūnga | About the role The position sits within the Housing Supply team comprising commercial, development and property management professionals.' Housing Supply drives the delivery of policy objectives with a tangible on the ground impact through delivery of new build public and transitional housing. The work is varied, stimulating, and challenging. This is a unique principal advisory role that will see you work strategically across the business and influence performance planning and strategic implementation of priorities and programmes of work. There is a focus on ensuring the team delivers quality work, improvement of processes and risk management and mitigation. There are also a number of varied projects to take ownership of and drive forward. You will work alongside another Principal Commercial Advisor acting as 2IC for the Manager, Housing Supply, delivering timely advice and professional support in accordance with established Ministry frameworks. Utilising your commercial acumen, you will advise the team on relevant developments and economic, political and social issues within the housing sector and develop initiatives in relation to implementation of organisational priorities.' The salary range for this role is $136,146 - $166,401. Ō'wheako, ō pukenga | About you This is not your typical principal advisory public sector role. You will bring a broad skillset to the position, including risk management, strategic stakeholder relationship management and commercial nous. You may come from a commercial, banking, property, regulatory, or local government or related sector. You will take an evidenced based approach to your work and have a keen commercial risk radar, identifying opportunities and threats, producing risk mitigation strategies to support productive outcomes for sector stakeholders. You will be a skilled and nuanced relationship builder, comfortable working alongside iwi housing providers, wider sector, and senior leadership. You will be confident working in a commercial related area and navigating the complexities of the public sector environment. What you'll bring to the role:

- Ability to create effective and meaningful relationships and demonstrate excellent influencing and negotiation skills'
- Knowledge and experience of working with Māori communities and stakeholders including iwi, hapū and Māori (desired but not necessary).
