This role will support the architecture team in building the modern data platform strategy and support their value stream in data solution architecture design. You're seasoned senior data engineer looking for a step up into principal level opportunities, this role will take you there. **What you’ll be doing** - Technical design and implementation of database solutions for our products - Assessing database technical & engineering competency of software engineers hired in value stream(s) - Advocate for data engineering best practices and approaches - Mentor and coach other engineers at any-level - Collaborate with Architecture and Site Reliability Engineering teams to bring better tooling, build automation, provisioning, logging, monitoring, alerting, etc. to the production database infrastructure. - Support Architecture team in building the modern data platform strategy - Collaborate with other Principal Engineers in identifying challenges that need to be addressed at an engineering wide level and driving the initiatives that addresses the challenges identified. **What you’ll bring to the team** - Deep understanding of database architecture and bleeding edge technologies and trends in the data platform space - Deep understanding of database and SQL best practices - Experience with modern engineering practices (e.g. database infrastructure automation, continuous integration, continuous delivery) - Experience with Azure data platforms: SQL database, SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Data Lake, and Data Lake Analytics. - Experience mentoring others and inspiring change across multiple teams - Adept at communicating and collaborating with all key stakeholders **Benefits** It's important to us that our people can bring their whole selves to work.
