**Lifeguard | Albany Stadium Pool and Leisure Centre**

To work as a pool lifeguard in New Zealand, the Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate (PLPC) is the minimum award you need to hold.

Pool lifeguards are observant, patient, and good with people. Their skill set means they have the confidence to act in a quick, responsible, and calm way.

The Shifts:

- Saturday 3pm - 7:30pm & Mondays 4pm - 7pm & Thursday 4pm - 7pm
- Saturday 8am - 4.30pm & Monday 1pm - 9.30pm
- Tuesday 5am - 1.30pm & Wednesday 5am - 1.30pm & Thursday 5am - 1.30pm
- Friday 1pm - 9.30pm & Saturday 11am - 7.30pm
- Full-Time option

As such, we will provide **ALL** training for you free of charge and pay you to attend the training.

**He kōrero mōu: About you**

We are looking for people of ages that are strong swimmers, dedicated to helping others and can commit to full-time work.
- Swim 200m freestyle in less than 6 minutes
- Swim 50m any stroke
- Duck, dive and retrieve objects from the bottom of the pool (at 5m depth)
- Tread water for 5 minutes

We aim to upskill and progress your career, so you can train and take on other functions within our centres, such as Recreation Assistant, Fitness Instructor and more.

By the same token, if we occasionally need some help in other areas such as at our front desk and general customer service duties, as a team member, you may be called on to cover these areas if short staffed or at peak periods.

This role is classified as a Children's Worker role under the Vulnerable Children Act 2014 and is deemed a safety sensitive position. As such applicants will be required to undergo police vetting and a drug test prior to commencing employment._
